Bootlicker Marcos is in Washington, DC to give Trump whatever he wants

President Marcos has been summoned to Washington, D.C. to “negotiate” after Trump threatened the Philippines with 20 percent tariffs on exports. Like the sycophant and doormat he is, BBM will likely make concessions to the satisfaction of the Trump government’s interests. We are bracing ourselves for the aftermath of this visit, from which only BBM’s US handlers and the highest income bracket will benefit. Trump’s tariffs, while inane, have caused panic internationally. Instead of criticizing the tariffs, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan brushed them off by illogically saying it could lead to an improvement in the GDP. Other short-sighted bureaucrats celebrated the fact that the rate is a little lower than other countries in the region. In other words, ours is a government that is scared to stand up for the Philippines.

Our own government officials won’t publicly admit what these tariffs will do to the daily lives of the Filipino people, but rather go ahead and make light of them on Trump’s behalf. Since taking his seat in 2022, BBM has consistently sold the Philippines piece by piece. He gave the US four new EDCA sites. He has allowed the United States to make Philippine territory its playground for war, playing into the false narrative that the Philippines needs to go to war with China and put itself on the frontlines for the US. The House recently passed a bill allowing 99-year land lease to foreigners, casually spitting in the face of our heroic history as a nation.

Amidst these concessions to the United States, China, and other foreign powers, Filipino families are worse off. As of June 2025, reports of involuntary hunger have increased from 11.6 percent or some 2.9 million families to 27.2 percent or 7.5 million families. But this staggering number won’t make it to his State of the Nation Address later this month, nor will the fact that ICE raids, kidnappings, and detention are terrorizing Filipino nationals across the US, while deported and war-displaced nationals will get near to nothing or nothing at all in assistance. What will likely make his address is how his pandering to Trump is somehow a display of heroism.

We in Malaya Movement USA have protested every single one of Marcos Jr.’s visits to this country and we will keep at it. It is our commitment to truth, justice, and accountability that the son of a fascist, thieving dictator who rose to power through corruption, violence, and fraud, be exposed at every opportunity. We call on Filipinos all over the US to take part in our People’s State of the Nation Address actions in the next week. Join the movement against fascism.
