Marcos’ disrespect for the Filipino people continues in the corruption riddled National Expenditure Program (NEP) that was approved in December. Not only is the NEP thoroughly anti-people, adding billions more to the nation’s debt, it is also a honeypot of unrestricted funds for Marcos.

As an organization founded to fight against state violence and fascism by the Philippine government, it is incumbent on us to speak out in solidarity with Yemen against the United States’ acts of war perpetrated in the past several days.

It has been more than 100 days since Israel unleashed its genocidal campaign on the Palestinian people in Gaza. More than 100 days of destruction and 75 years of occupation by Israel. Israel has so far dropped at least two hundred 2,000-pound bombs and over 600 bombs weekly indiscriminately, all the while feigning victimhood. 23,000+ have been martyred, more than 70% being women and children.

We condemn unscrupulous politicians’ fresh attempts to open up the Philippine constitution through mass deception and capitalizing on the chronic suffering of the Filipino people, otherwise constituents they claim to serve.

Malaya Movement USA joins the international community, including the millions of Filipinos in the diaspora, in commemorating the 75th anniversary of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 2023. Since the declaration, the global human rights situation has only continued to deteriorate. This internationally recognized declaration provides a distinct opportunity for us to reflect on the human rights situation in the Philippines and all over the world and encourage our members and allies to action in defense of the very same.

The human rights situation in the Philippines under the Marcos, Jr. and Sara Duterte Regime is dire and continues to worsen. Since assuming office, Marcos Jr. has unleashed state sanctioned violence and political repression against the Filipino people in order to suppress those who are critical of the regime due to their advocacy of genuine human rights, democracy, and sovereignty.
