2025 Immersion Trip
Malaya Movement USA sent 21 people to the Philippines for an immersion trip during Peasant Month in October. They integrated with communities in the National Capital Region (NCR), Negros Occidental, Bicol, and Mindanao. They met with the loved ones of Duterte’s Drug War and those disappeared by the state, former political prisoners, and human rights advocates.
Isabel Batralo, Vice Chair of Desaparecidos, shared a poem to Malaya USA members that she wrote for her brother Cesar who was forcibly disappeared by the state in 2006.
