Since its formation in 2018, Malaya Movement has developed into an integral aspect of the movement against tyranny and dictatorship in the Philippines. The last five years have been full of various successes that have both deepened and broadened our advocacy in defense of democracy, human rights, and sovereignty.

As we head into our 2nd National Assembly to plan for the next 2 years with 20 different chapters nationwide, we need your support. We are roughly 1.5 weeks away from convening September 16-18 in New York City, yet we are only a little over 10% of our fundraising goal of $30,000.

This amount will cover our budget for food (3 meals a day for all the attendees), venue, insurance, honoraria for our guest speakers, equipment rentals, assembly materials, as well as travel and housing costs for some members attending on scholarship. Any leftover funds raised will go towards our National Fund to sustain our operating costs for the next 2 years.

There are 3 ways you can support: Direct Donation, Buy a T-Shirt, or Attend our Cultural Night! Any contribution is greatly appreciated and will go a long way in the fight for human rights justice in the Philippines. More information below.

Join us for HIMIG NG PAKIKIBAKA on Sept 16 at 6:30pm at Barnard College for an evening of cultural performances that celebrate the Filipino people’s struggle against fascism. Enjoy spoken word, music, and performances that highlight the importance of solidarity in a time of rising attacks against activists and human rights defenders in the Philippines and around the world.

For Malaya Movement members, the event is free but donations are encouraged. For non-members, tickets are $20+ sliding scale, no one turned away for lack of funds.
