AFP, MARCOS' BUTCHERS AND WAR CRIMINALS: KILLED CIVILIANS, MISHANDLED BODIES AND EVIDENCE
Malaya Movement USA expresses our deepest condolences for the families of the Negros 19, including those of our friends from the U.S., Lyle Prijoles and Kai Sorem, in light of the autopsy report by forensic pathologist, Dr. Raquel Fortun.
Dr. Fortun previously conducted extensive autopsies on other human rights violations that have occurred in the Philippines, especially those who were killed under Duterte's so-called war on drugs. We thank her for the immense kindness and humanity she and her team have shown the victims of the Toboso massacre and their families.
Initial reports are concerning and predictably calls into question the claims of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) supported by the Philippine and US governments.
Basic crime scene investigation (CSI) was abandoned, families were barred from seeing and claiming their loved ones’ bodies, and calls for an independent investigation are being rabidly dismissed, yet the AFP claims it has nothing to hide?
Dr. Fortun revealed that several of the bodies were poorly handled, clothes necessary to the CSI are missing, and even the family of Errol Wendel received the body of an unknown man and not of Wendel’s. Some of the bodies were improperly stored and arrived in an state of advanced decomposition, making an accurate autopsy report difficult.
The death certificates that were issued in Negros simply listed cause of death as 'multiple gunshot wounds' without any specificity. Yet Dr Fortun's initial findings show at least two victims who were allowed to bleed out or aspirate after the firings with no treatment, potentially constituting a war crime.
"That's the problem in the Philippines, the murderers are the ones who investigate, they are in-control of everything and we are not. They are not science-based and nobody asks questions" - Dr Raquel Fortun
The AFP and the NTF-ELCAC have gone to great lengths to push their propaganda offensive to spread vile lies about what happened in Toboso. The cracks in their narrative are many and glaring. What is very clearly omitted from their propaganda are the fact that they killed nine civilians, including two children.
We denounce the paid troll farms to make fun of the dead, referring to the slain victims of the AFP as 'corned beef'. These were people who led incredibly beautiful lives serving the poorest and most marginalized in society. The dehumanizing joke shows us the true attitude of the Philippine government and its agents towards the struggling Filipino people.
Malaya Movement USA demands that the Commission on Human Rights' investigation is allowed to continue independently and impartially.
We demand that independent fact-finding missions be allowed into Toboso and kept uncompromised from the influence of the Philippine state.
Marcos Jr. must be held accountable for ordering his attack dogs in the AFP to commit war crimes. He has no place in the UN Security Council. Sign the petition: tinyurl.com/NoMarcosSeat
The U.S. must stop funding these war crimes and human rights violations. Millions in funding continue to be placed on Marcos' lap to commit murder and we cannot stand for this.
Reach out to your legislators, encourage them to speak out against the Negros 19 massacre and demand that an inquiry be made regarding the potential use of US security assistance and weaponry in military operations on April 19th, as well as the aerial bombings that took place in Mindoro on January 1.
